The switching Position three provides a twist on the “rhythm” tone, while position two offers the neck pickup
solo, wired directly to the volume pot, and position one is the bridge pickup alone, with volume control and blend for the neck pickup.
Released in 2020 which is of course a 70th Anniversary of the Esquire this is model 923-5001-175 in aged black. Being an anniversary
year means others were released including a 2 pickup Thinline Esquire which I will ignore as ridiculous.
The Fender blurb

First released around 2021 said to be only 70 but I think there
are more than that about and that they made them later as well. Fairly obviously a recreation of Joe's guitar Fender say:
