Like it's sister guitar the SHB 400 the SSC 500 was made from 1981 to 1983 but official documentation
on this guitar is scarce. It doesn't appear in the archives and is absent from the Japanese and UK catalogues
of the period. It does however appear in the 1981 USA and Canada catalogue as per the scan above. It doesn't appear
in the 1982 UK catalogue nor in the 1981 or 1982 Japanese catalogue. Leon from yamahaguitars.nl,
has access to more catalogues than I do has checked and confirms that they are only in the US catalogues.

The Pickups
These are single bar pickups which have been overwound for higher output the coil tap takes out about a third of the windings
to give a normal single coil sound.
