We have now reached the point where the Fender Japan Joint venture ceases trading but production of Japanese
Fenders continues. Now though these are models Fender USA commissions to be made in various Japanese factories.
We have JD serial numbers made by Dyna Gakki JT serial numbers made by Terada and JFF serial numbers reputed
to be Fujigen, though I have never been able to find proof of FujiGen.
I now have strong information from an interview with Allen Abbassi Director of Product Management at Fender that
JFF does indeed refer to FujiGen.

Now Fender are still making some models for the domestic market only although these are less domestic than before
in that they seem to be in many far eastern countries and Australia and New Zealand.
Some models are now being exported to the west and featuring on Fender's western websites, these are models mostly also for
sale in Japan.
Fender Japan Exclusive Stratocaster FSR Gold Hardware
This is the sort of thing that was going on from 2015 onwards. It is just a variation of the ST62G range that they decided
to export there were several ST62G models that don't appear in the catalogues, so this may or may not have been for sale in Japan.

Japan Traditional 50s Stratocaster Competition Stripe
The Japan traditional series made by Dyna Gakki was supposed to be domestic only but several guitars from this range were exported
and featured on western Fender web sites. This FSR is basically a continuation of the ST57 range with a different finish
and some really cool colours. Model 5565002 Colour

This is a 2023 Limited run in Sunburst only 70s style with a reversed headstock model 5503702 colour 300 made by Dyna Gakki.
Whilst it has the 70s shape headstock it doesn't have the bullet TRA or 3 bolt neck. Designed apparently as a domestic

Fender Japan JV Modified
A cynical attempt to exploit the JV reputation? Probably. They are far from replicas of the 80s JVs but do have some good reviews
there are two models which made it to the western world a 50s HSS and a 60s SSS. These are made by FujiGen.

This revival of the Boxer series allowed for a limited number to be exported although more were available
for the domestic market model is 025-1750. There were 2 colours available
from Music Radar
There's two Boxer series humbuckers here, both with coil-splits via a toggle switch but there's a TBX
control too – that's a Treble Bass Expander. Fender say this offers "versatile tone shaping, offering sounds
not available with standard tone control". This is a Fender factory mod that emerged sometime in the 80s and
is essentially a stacked 250k passive control that's like a standard tone control between 0 and 5 but alters
resistance as you turn it up from there; allowing more, bass, treble and output in general.

Fender Final Fantasy XIV Stratocaster
Slightly odd one this it is a brand collaboration which Fender have done before but no so much recently. This collaboration is
with the Final Fantasy video game and film company based in Japan. A Glasgow Fender dealer is currently selling one for £3499
seems an awful lot of money. This is model 5601000 899 from that dealer. Guitar made by Dyna Gakki
