The Double Six was first made in 1963 as a prototype and then produced in a different design in 1964 and 1965.
The modern version was launched in 1994 as part of the Custom series made in the UK.
It was re-launched in 2000 as part of the club series made in Korea. Trevor gives details of both of these.
I can't find much in the way of significant changes since Trevor stopped updating except that he states white
was available only in 2003 but since then more white ones have been made there is a white one for sale new
at the moment, December 2016, in Thomann at £646. At some stage manufacturing moved from Korea to China,
but I have no note of the exact date.

More information from Bill Lovegrove
you should know that the first Double Sixes were in fact the twelve string bass as
used by Hank Marvin and Eric Haydock of the Hollies. Listen to "it's in her kiss" it's featured on that.
