This guitar is a one off custom order hand made in the UK for Denis Fowler in Burns Custom Shop in 2001.
I can't find out anything about Denis but if you are reading this and have more information please get in touch.
Some Details
This guitar was on sale on Ebay at some point and all the information was collected from that sale. Here is what the sale
details said.
This guitar is unique... the only one on the planet. It was made for me in the Burns custom shop in England in 2001
as a special order. It has a semi-hollow, double edge bound body in a beautiful figured tiger stripe in trans blue colour.
The exceptionally figured maple neck and fret board comes from Jim Burns' origonal wood stock according to
Barry Gibson, Burns MD. The scratch plate is pearloid and the lower tone control is push pull type.
The inscription on the rear is a plastic cover only and can be removed if required.
The machines are Sperzal locking and all hardware is gold coloured the guitar is in excellent condition except minor
fading on the bridge area.
The pick-ups are Rezomatic, the Burns case is made by Hiscox complete with Burns strap and duster.
This guitar has never been gigged but used on many recordings by me.

Update February 2018
I have been ccntacted by the current owner of this guitar John Sutton who has provided me with some great information. Thanks John
This is an extract from John's Email
Hi, I stumbled across your web site when I was researching the Burns Atlantis Guitar.
I can now confirm that I have this same guitar, and it is absolutely fantastic.
It is certainly a one off. It is double bound, sounds far better than any of my Fender Stratocasters, American, Japanese,
Korean or any other manufacturing country.
Some information about Denis Fowler. Denis became a personal friend of Barry Gibson and used to visit him at his home socially.
One day when visiting Barry Gibson, Denis was asked what his perfect guitar would be. After consultation, and obviously discussion,
Denis described his absolutely perfect guitar. Nothing more was mentioned!
2 weeks later whilst Denis was driving, the telephone rang, (Presumably, Car phone). It was Barry, I have got your guitar the voice
said.
Barry Gibson had built Dennis Fowler his perfect guitar, and I must say it is perfect. It plays brilliantly, sounds great and is a
one off (well almost,) Evidently, at a trade show, Barry Gibson was showing prospective buyers photos of guitars and a German buyer
saw the Atlantis and said I want one of those. So evidently there are actually 2 Burns Atlantis guitars in the world.
Mine and one in Germany.
If you know of the German guitar I would love to hear from you.
